Course Overview

The Aerospace Engineering BSc (Hons) Top-Up Degree is a one-year full-time programme based at the University of Brighton's Moulsecoomb campus. Designed specifically for students who have already completed a Foundation Degree or HND in a relevant engineering subject, this course gives you the opportunity to convert your existing qualification into a full honours degree — in just one year.

Ranked 8th in the UK for teaching and 9th for academic support in the National Student Survey 2025, Brighton offers a practical, hands-on learning environment backed by researchers working with organisations such as the European Space Agency.

What You Will Study

You will develop advanced technical skills and knowledge through project-based work using specialist facilities — including flight and car simulators, a wind tunnel, prototyping labs, CNC machines, and robotics and VR labs. You will collaborate with other engineering students on real-world challenges, mirroring the kind of teamwork, project management, and problem-solving expected in the industry.

The student-led Sustainable Technology and Engineering Projects (STEP) Lab gives you the chance to work on live energy and sustainability challenges, while professional engineers visit regularly to share their experiences through guest lectures. You will also have opportunities to get involved in real industrial projects during your studies.
